Just got home from seeing Pitch Perfect. I’m not really into chick flicks, but my girls are and it was worth a girls night out.
I personally liked the movie, yea it was typical, a lot of girl infighting. The main character, Beca, played by Anna Kendrick, blows the relationship, but wins the guy back in the end. It wasn’t mushy, too nerdy, or extremely lame, just plain ol’ fashion entertainment.
I don’t know about everyone else, but Oscar quality doesn’t make a movie good to me. If I can sit back and leave the world outside, not get too disgusted by abusive language, or excessive sex, it’s generally a good movie.
The movie is rated PG-13 but it was a refreshingly tame PG-13. Me and my girls came out singing songs and being silly-it was fun. The topper of the night was when we ran into the store to get a few necessities-the kind you would only go to the store at mid-night for, the cashier joined in our song; it was great. I wish I thought to look at her name tag to give her proper credit for making the night.
